Description:

Wooden tobacco pipe with Kalmas bowl, without heel and ascending stem with stub. Bowl bottom in relief shell motif with seven flutes. Bowl and stem meticulously inlaid with pieces of mother-of-pearl with a double-headed eagle in front of the chest three times in a heart shape with a crowned coat of arms, the same coat of arms twice on both sides. Original mounting with silver valve cover with octagonal tip shape and Eastern European retaining spring, silver stub ring with knurled edge and locking eye. Original accompanying stem of black buffalo horn with turning and inlay of silver nails, the center piece hexagonal with mother-of-pearl panels, some with engraving. Silver safety chain.

Vgl. APM 20.636 vergelijkbaar stuk maar met een duidelijke hoofdvoorstelling en meer hout zichtbaar.
Vergelijkbaar inlegwerk is ook in Illyria (het huidige Albanië) gemaakt.
