Description:
Tobacco pipe made of wood with oval bowl, heel and short straight stem. Complete with moist bag and straight upgoing stem with curved horn mouthpiece. Bowl front carved folk art scene of smoking men at a table surrounded by trees, left a sitting dog. Heel carved date 1884. Moisture bag with openwork branches with leaves and beech nuts. Cover on the top carved a curled snake. Stem creeper leaves, a horseshoe on the top. Bowl internally covered with sheet iron. On the ferrule intaglio “(F.B) ITZSCHE” , (or S.R). |
