Description:

Tobacco pipe made of porcelain with hollow-walled figural bowl, flat bottom and short stem with stub. Bowl bust of a woman with sunken face, glasses and lace hat with pleated edge, bust with checkered scarf. Stem embossed geometric ornaments. Painting in natural colours, a pink ribbon around the hat, the neck scarf orange-red, the stub gold-plated.

Parijs, Drouot, 1983, Collectie Docteur G., lot. 203. 1 petite pipe de porcelaine représentant (Charlotte Corday ?). Dessous et pomte doré. "A été également repris comme modèle en terre par la fabrique Gambier". Probablement Paris. Tout début XIXème siècle. Très rare. Opbrengst FF 4000.
