Description:
Tobacco pipe made of porcelain with a hollow-walled figural bowl, without a heel and a rising stem with a narrow cuff. Bowl head of a Turk with turban with jewel on the front. Stem transition a narrow collar, on the stem on both sides c-volutes. Glaze in yellow, red, pink, purple, green, black and white. Button, jewel and c-volutes on the stem gilded. Brass valve cover and stem mounting with ring and stem holder plus locking ring. |

| Vgl. Walter Morgenroth, Tabakpfeifen sammeln, Kunstwerke in Porzellan, München, 1989, p LV, afb 168. Vergelijkbaar stuk maar groter formaat, vermoedelijk het voorbeeld voor deze kop. Het geschilderde ketelmerk lijkt ook op de nageschilderde Meissen merken uit de plaats Volkstedt. Daarnaast is de schildering met name van de snor en de wenkbrauwen te gemakzuchtig voor een product uit Meissen.
