Description :
Tobacco pipe made of meerschaum with a cylindrical slightly constricted bowl, a lens-shaped underside and a slightly rising stem hardly widening towards the end. Bowl carved all around with naked Diana lying on the front, surrounded by little angels, on both sides a boar and a deer attacked by hunting dogs, along the bowl opening four garlands on nail heads against ornamentation in Louis XVI style. Original mounting with silver bowl frame in which a lid in the shape of a crown sinks, stub plate with narrow stem holder and locking ring with chain to lid. Lid ring two stamped silver marks. |
