Compiling the index

A solid book includes indexes to facilitate quick look-ups. That is the task for the coming month - a job that could well be described as painstaking work , or even an exercise in discipline, especially for a book exceeding 400 pages. We assume the user will be grateful  later, as the index yields the requested information more quickly and effectively. After all, that is precisely what one expects from a handbook.
