Tabaksvignet van papier met in vierkant kader met gladde lijst een naar links gewende olifant met opgeheven slurf, op de rug een Indiaan met verentooi een lange pijp rokend, ter weerszijden de initialen "I" en "L", eronder tekst ".. BY JOHAN L .. EN ZOON OP .. UYTEKAND, v .. N .. EYLAND, T .. DE KRAAN .., EN BANTEMER-STR. DE WITTE OLIPHANT, TOT AMSTE..". Opgeplakt op geel papier, eronder met potlood "16-17E EEUW". Achterzijde vignet met inkt "VIIb".

Ab Hoving & Jeroen van der Vliet, 'A Bespoke Elephant', The Rijksmuseum Bulletin, 60-2, 2012, p 131 e.v. Over een scheepsmodel in de collectie van het Rijksmuseum met de naam 'Witte Oliphant'. P 136. Both elements feature prominently on the shop sign that hung over the door of the Amsterdam tobacco merchants Johannes Lubelink & Zoon, in the second half of the eighteenth century. Its premises, known as 'The White Elephant', on Buitenkant between Bantammerstraat and the Kraansluis, sported a sign with a blackamoor seated on a white elephant while smoking a pipe, as did their tobacco wrappers (fig. 6).
